(v) The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

(vi) Pedestrians affected by the footway closure should proceed using the footway opposite as directed by traffic signs.

(vii) Nothing in the Order will apply to:-

(a) any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works;

(e) any person so as to prevent their access to any property adjacent to the prohibited footway or length of footway specified in sub-paragraph 2(c) above.

(viii) Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting prohibition imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

(ix) The Order will come into operation on 8 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 15 July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period 3 months should further works be required.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(BOTSFORD ROAD, SW20)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate gas mains replacement works in Botsford Road, SW20, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Botsford Road.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Botsford Road, on the west side, for its entire length, including the footway.

3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

4. Nothing in the Order will apply to:-

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited road or length of road insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

6. The Order will come into operation on Monday 6 July 2026 and will remain in force for 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The works are anticipated to be completed on 24 July 2026.

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(VARIOUS ROADS) (NO.11)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice, that to facilitate lead pipe replacement works in the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, on both sides and for the entire lengths of the roads specified in the Schedule to this notice.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice would be suspended.

4. The restrictions and suspensions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

NB – the works would be carried out in lengths of no more than 80 metres at a time.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply:-

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order would come into operation on Monday 20th July 2026 with works anticipated to be completed by 20th January 2027. However, the Order would remain in force for 12 months should further works be required.
