ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(ALWYNE ROAD, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate redevelopment works at Nos. 41 to 47 Wimbledon Hill Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce temporary parking and loading restrictions in Alwyne Road.
  2. During the works no person will:-
  3. (a) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in Alwyne Road, the south-east side, from a point 16 metres north-east of its junction with Wimbledon Hill Road north-eastward for a distance of 22 metres, between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm Mondays to Saturdays;

    (b) enter or proceed in south-eastern footway of Alwyne Road, from the common boundary of No. 1C Alwyne Road and No. 47 Wimbledon Hill Road south-westward for a distance of 30 metres.

  4. Any designated parking place situated in the road and length of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
  5. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  6. Nothing in the Order will apply:-
  7. (a) to the loading or unloading of construction delivery vehicles between the hours of 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Saturdays; or

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

  8. Any person affected by the closure of the footway specified in sub-paragraph 2(b) above should proceed using the footway opposite.
  9. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  10. The Order will come into operation on Monday 6 July 2026 and it is anticipated the works will be completed by 5 October 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(BURLINGTON ROAD AND WEST BARNES LANE, KT3) (No. 2)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate rail works at the northernmost level crossing on West Barnes Lane, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road and prohibit waiting by vehicles in Burlington Road.
  2. Whilst the works take place, no person will:-
  3. (a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in West Barnes Lane, between the eastern kerb-line of Burlington Road and the western kerb-line of Linkway;

    (b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in:-

    (i) the length of West Barnes Lane specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;

    (ii) West Barnes Lane, both sides, between the northern building wall of No. 50 West Barnes Lane and its junction with Burlington Road;

    (iii) Burlington Road, both sides, between its junction with West Barnes Lane and the Burlington Road Tesco supermarket exit;

    (c) enter or proceed on foot in the length of West Barnes Lane specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

  4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  5. Any vehicle in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  6. The alternative routes for:-
  7. (a) vehicles affected by the road closure would be via Claremont Avenue, West Barnes Lane and Crossway or vice versa;

    (b) pedestrians affected by the road closure would be via the adjacent footbridge.

  8. Nothing in the Order will apply:-
  9. (a) to any person carrying out the works or any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;

    (b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

    (c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

    (d) so as to prevent pedestrian or vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above.

  10. The Order will come into operation 14 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on 17 July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate the installation of service cables in Alwyne Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.
  2. During the works no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:
  3. (a) proceed other than in a generally north-eastbound direction in Alwyne Road, from its junction with Wimbledon Hill Road to a point opposite the south-western flank wall of Central House, Wimbledon Hill Road; or

    (b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in the length of road specified in sub paragraph 2(a) above.

  4. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2 above would be suspended for the duration of the works.
  5. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
  6. Nothing in the Order would apply to:-
  7. (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the works;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

  8. The alternative route for vehicles affected by the one-way working would be via Worcester Road, Compton Road, Wimbledon Hill Road and Alwyne Road.
  9. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
  10. The Order would come into operation on Tuesday 28 July 2024 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed on 7 August 2026. However, the Order would remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(STIRLING CLOSE)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate the installation of new foul and storm sewer connections in Stirling Close, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.
  2. During the works, no person will:-

(a) (i) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Stirling Close (eastern side), from a point 17 metres north of the northern kerb line of Windermere Road north eastward for a distance of 20 metres; or

(ii) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close extending from a point 5 metres north of the junction with Windermere Road north eastwards for a distance of 50 metres; or

(iii) enter or proceed in the north-eastern footway of the length of Stirling Close specified in sub paragraph (a)(i) above.

(b) (i) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Stirling Close (western side) from a point 17 metres north of the northern kerb line of Windermere Road north eastward for a distance of 20 metres; or

(ii) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close specified in sub paragraph (b)(i) above; or

(c) (i) enter or proceed in Stirling Close north-east arm (southern side) from the common boundary of Nos. 1 to 8 and Nos. 9 to 14 south eastwards for 17 metres;

(ii) or cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purposes of loading or unloading, in the length of Stirling Close north east arm (northern side) identified in (c)(i); or

(iii) enter or proceed in the southern footway in the length of Stirling Close specified in sub paragraph (c)(i) above.

(iv) Any designated parking place situated in the lengths of Stirling Close specified in paragraphs 2(a)(ii) 2(b)(ii) or 2(c)(ii) above will be suspended for the duration of the works.
