TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Secretary of State has further extended the Order made by the Lake District National Park Authority dated 22 April 2025.

The effect of the order is to prohibit public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over Footpath 539017 at Far Houses, between SD 2426 8689 and SD 2426 8679, to enable works to be carried out to repair and make safe structures at a deserted farmstead.

The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority, Wayfaring House, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at Westmorland and Furness Council customer Services, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ; and at Broughton Information Centre, The Old Town Hall, The Square, Broughton in Furness, LA20 6LF; and online at www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/rowclosures

The Order will continue in force until 8 November 2026, or until the works are complete, whichever is the earlier. If the works have not been completed during this period the Order may be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State. Signs have been erected showing the closed path and the alternative route during the works.
