The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No. 12) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 29 June 2026 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

  1. The general effect of the Orders will be to designate a new parking place at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following location.

  1. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 06 July 2026, and of all associated Orders, can be inspected between 10am and 4pm, at Croydon Central Library, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET for a period of six weeks from the date the Orders were made. Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.
  2. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

AURELIA GARDENS, THORNTON HEATH

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate gas service alteration works by SGN, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic movements in Aurelia Gardens, Thornton Heath.
  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Aurelia Gardens will be closed between the common boundary of Nos. 42 and 43 Aurelia Gardens and the turning circle at the southeastern end of the road.
  3. During the closure access to properties will be maintained.
  4. The Order will come into operation on 02 July 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within four days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further works be required.
  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
    • (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.
    • (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
    • (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

BRIDLE ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate remedial works to a reinstatement on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Bridle Road, Croydon.
  2. Whilst the said works are taking place, Bridle Road will be closed northbound from its junction with Shirley Way to its junction with Worcester Close.
  3. During the closure traffic will be diverted via Shirley Way, West Way, Shirley Church Road, Upper Shirley Road, and Wickham Road.
  4. The Order will come into operation on 07 July 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 08 July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
    • (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.
    • (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
    • (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
  6. The restriction will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

FACTORY LANE, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate sewer connection works they have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Factory Lane, Croydon.
  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Factory Lane will be closed between its junction with Martin Crescent and the western boundary and No. 52 Factory Lane.
  3. During the closure, the alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.
    • Via Mitcham Road, Purley Way, Stafford Road, Duppas Hill Road, Old Town and Roman Way.
    • Via Roman Way, Old Town, Duppas Hill Road, Purley Way, Mitcham Road, Derby Road, Pitlake and Cuthbert Road.
  4. The Order will come into operation on 06 July 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 16 July 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.
  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:
    • (a) any vehicle or person involved in conducting the said work.
    • (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.
    • (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
