(Catley Cross, Pebmarsh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Catley Cross, Pebmarsh in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Long Gardens for a distance of approximately 970m in a south easterly, south westerly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th July 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2395230 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via A131, Collins Road, Oak Road, Catley Cross and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Churchponds, Castle Hedingham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Churchponds, Castle Hedingham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 45m south east of its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 26m in south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03163137533 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via Crown Street, Pye Corner, Bayley Street, St James Street, King Street, Falcon Square and vice versa (with access only into Churchponds).
The Order will come into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Finchingfield Road, Stambourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Finchingfield Road, Stambourne in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 1300m south west of its junctions with Great Yeldham Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC0080GEAA4915043SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Finchingfield Road, Dyers End, Great Yeldham Road, Stambourne Road, A1017, Rectory Road, Prayors Hill, Wethersfield Road, Hedingham Road, High Street, B1053, B1057, Howe Street, Upper Howe Street, Finchingfield Road – Howe Street To Dyer’s End – ZC161, Robinhood End, Finchingfield Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nether Hill, Gestingthorpe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nether Hill, Gestingthorpe in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 30m north west of its junction with Sudbury Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03164260671 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).
An alternative route is available via The Street, Otten Road, Vicarage Road, Cole Green, Gages Road, Knowl Green, Belchamp Road, Tilbury Hill, Tilbury Road, North Road, Leather Lane, Little Yeldham Road, School Road, North End Road, Hall Green, North End Road and vice versa (with access only into Nether Hill, Chapel Hill, Puttock End and Stettles Farm Road).
The Order will come into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hedingham Road, Gestingthorpe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hedingham Road, Gestingthorpe in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 240m north east of its junction with Little Maplestead Road for a distance of approximately 320m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th July 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (HP00151094918 – National Grid). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by National Grid.
An alternative route is available via A131, Church Road, Bulmer Street, Lower Houses, Sudbury Road, Church Street, Audley End, Moat Street and vice versa (with access only into Hedingham Road and Broad Road).
The Order came into effect on 25th June 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
