What is happening?

Notice of Intention

NOTICE Is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1207 From C1209 to Gattimer Lane, Peterchurch, Herefordshire, Traffic Movement (Temporary Restriction) Order 2026 to temporarily traffic on the 'C1207 From GC1209 to Gattimer Lane' as follows:

a) temporarily prohibit HGVs, except buses, from using the said road between the Long Lane and the C1209, from the 20th July for a planned duration of 28 days

b) temporarily prohibit all traffic from traveling northbound between the junction with the C1209 and the junction with Long Lane between the hours of 00:00 and 12:00 from the 20th July for a planned duration of 8 days.

c) to temporarily prohibit all traffic from traveling southbound between the junction with Long Lane and the junction with the C1209 between the hours of 12:00 and 23:59 from the 20th July for a planned duration of 8 days and.

d) to temporarily prohibit all traffic from using the said road between the junction with the C1209 and the junction with Long Lane, with the exception of buses and for resident access to properties located between the C1209 and Long Lane only, from July 29th (or sooner if works are ahead of schedule) for a planned duration of 17 days.

If traffic conditions require it, the directions of travel and times may be altered and will be signposted at either end of the restricted length of road. There are exemptions in the Order for buses and for access to properties located on the C1207 between the C1209 and Long Lane only. The alternate route for those affected by the Order shall be via the B4348 onto the B4349 onto the B4352 onto the B4348 and vice versa. The said prohibitions are required facilitate safe traffic movements in the area due to electricity power supply works and closure on the B4348.

The said Order shall come into force on the 20th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the prohibitions are expected to be in place for the above-mentioned durations only.
