What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (DUKE STREET AND MOSS LANE, HOLME) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of; Duke Street, Holme, from a point approx. 45 metres south west of its junction with Pinders Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 70 metres.
Moss Lane, Holme, from its junction extending in a westerly direction for approx. 35 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows;
Northbound Traffic Alternative Route: via Station Road, Sheernest Lane, Burton Road (B6384), A6070, U5430, C5089, C5090 and Moss Lane.
Southbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Duke Street, Milnthorpe Road (B6384), Burton Road, A6070, U5430, C5089, C5090 and Moss Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 17th July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 4 nights between the hours of 18:00hrs and 23:00hrs ONLY and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
