(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle from waiting at any time on the following lengths of highway;
I. Hough Lane (westbound carriageway only) from its junction with Newsome Street to its junction with Meadow Street.
II. Hough Lane (westbound carriageway only) from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Meadow Street for a distance of 28 metres in a westerly direction.
III. Quin Street, Leyland (southbound carriageway only) from its junction with Hough Lane for a distance of 40 metres in a northerly direction.
2. To temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle from loading and unloading at any time on the following lengths of highway;
I. Hough Lane (westbound carriageway only) from its junction with Newsome Street to its junction with Meadow Street.
II. Hough Lane (westbound carriageway only) from a point 7 metres west of its junction with Meadow Street for a distance of 28 metres in a westerly direction.
III. Quin Street, Leyland (southbound carriageway only) from its junction with Hough Lane for a distance of 40 metres in a northerly direction.
3. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
4. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 20th July 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 31st July 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow HV Ducting and cable installation works to be carried out.
