Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
A28 Canterbury Road, Birchington, CT7 9AF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Birchington, on or after 13th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 227, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A28 The Square, A28 Canterbury Road, B2052 George V Avenue, B2052 Hartsdown Road, Tivoli Road, Beatrice Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, A254 Margate Road, B2014 Newington Road, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, A255 Canterbury Road East, A299 Canterbury Road East, Lord Of The Manor Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Monkton Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A299 St Nicholas Roundabout and A28 Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A299 St Nicholas Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A299 Monkton Roundabout, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Mount Pleasant, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, Lord Of The Manor Roundabout, A299 Canterbury Road East, A255 Canterbury Road East, A255 Nethercourt Circus, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 High Street, B2014 Newington Road, A254 Margate Road, A254 Ramsgate Road, B2052 College Road, B2052 Hartsdown Road, B2052 George V Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road and A28 The Square.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Albert Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Albert Street, Ramsgate, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed near Harbour Towers, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Albert Street, Hertford Street, Hertford Place and Addington Street.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Addington Street, West Cliff Road, Hertford Street and Albert Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Edge End Road, Broadstairs, CT10 2AE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Edge End Road, Broadstairs, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 27A. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Edge End Road, Vale Road, Gladstone Road, A255 St Peters Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Grange Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grange Road, Ramsgate, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 83, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grange Road, Ellington Place, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, B2054 London Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
High Street & South Eastern Road, Ramsgate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street & South Eastern Road, Ramsgate, on or after 13th July 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
High Street will be closed at the junction of South Eastern Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
South Eastern Road will be closed at the junction of High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via South Eastern Road, A255 Park Road, Chatham Street, High Street, Cannon Road and Ellington Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Ellington Road, Grange Road, A255 Park Road and South Eastern Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Manston Road, Manston, CT9 4JW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Manston Road, Manston, on or after 14th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite Secure Storage Solutions & DDS Demolition, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manston Road, B2050 Manston Road East, B2050 Manston Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Margate Soul Festival (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow Margate Soul Festival to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the event has taken place.
The Parade will be closed between the junctions of Market Street and King Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Duke Street will be closed at the junction with Market Place, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Mansion Street will be closed at the junction with Fort Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Market Place will be closed at the junction with Love Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
King Street will be closed at the junction with Broad Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic from King Street is via King Street, Broad Street and Love Lane.
The alternative route for any through traffic from The Parade is via B2051 The Parade, Market Street and Lombard Street.
Pedestrian access will still be maintained throughout the event.
Preston Road, Ramsgate, CT12 5AR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Road, Ramsgate, on or after 14th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 100m & 120m North of Preston Park Holiday Park entrance, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Preston Road, B2050 Manston Road, Manston Court Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Warten Road, Ramsgate, CT11 7ET (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Warten Road, Ramsgate, on or after 13th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the side of number 229, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Warten Road, Dumpton Park Drive, Montefiore Avenue, A255 Hereson Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
