What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

SWALE AREA

Briton Road, Faversham, ME13 8PX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Briton Road, Faversham from 13th July 2026, with estimated completion by 21st July 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with B2041 Forbes Road and Roman Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Roman Road, Stone Street, Preston Street, B2041 Forbes Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Brogdale Road, Ospringe, ME13 8XY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Brogdale Road, Ospringe from 17th July 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Porters Lane for approximately 560m northwards, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Brogdale Road, A2 London Road, A2 Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road, A251 Faversham Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A252 Charing Hill, A20 Maidstone Road, A20 Ashford Road, Hubbards Hill, Warren Street, Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road, The Street, Eastling Road, Whitehill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Bull Lane, Newington, ME9 7SH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bull Lane, Newington from 29th July 2026 with estimated completion by 30th July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed south of the junction with Wormdale Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Old House Lane, Lower Hartlip Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, Playstool Road, Bull Lane and vice versa.Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Colegates Road, Oare, ME13 0QJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Colegates Road, Oare from 30th July 2026 with estimated completion by 31st July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed opposite Little Cocketts Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bysing Wood Road, Luddenham Hill (Bysing Wood Road), B2045 Western Link, Oare Road, The Street (Oare Road) and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Luton Road, Faversham, ME13 8DA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow gully works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Luton Road, Faversham from 13th July 2026, with estimated completion by 31st July 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Sommerville Close and Minster Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Provender Lane, Norton, ME13 0SW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Provender Lane, Norton from 17th July 2026, with estimated completion by 19th July 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Church View and Norton Villas, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Norton Road, A2 London Road, Provender Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Staplestreet Road, Hernhill, ME13 9TY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow the annual wheelie bin event to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staplestreet Road, Hernhill from 18th July 2026 for up to one day, between the hours of 10:00 and 21:00, or until the event is complete.

The road will be closed between the Three Horseshoes Public House and the entrance for Mount Ephraim Gardens, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Staplestreet Road, The Street, Bull Lane, Staple Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the event.



The Street, Lower Halstow, ME9 7DR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow tankering works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Lower Halstow from 31st July 2026, with estimated completion by 10th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Three Tuns and the junction with Vicarage Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, School Lane, Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



West Ridge, Sittingbourne, ME10 1UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of West Ridge, Sittingbourne from 27th July 2026, with estimated completion by 24th August 2026, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junction with Windsor Drive and number 13, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Windsor Drive, Minterne Avenue, Bradley Drive, Gore Court Road, Ufton Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Wildmarsh Road, Luddenham, ME13 0TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2026

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Wildmarsh Road, Luddenham from 30th July 2026 with estimated completion by 31st July 2026, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lily Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Luddenham Hill, Bysingwood Road, Lower Road, Elverton Lane, Wildmarsh Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
