SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Chestnut Road, Wednesbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Chestnut Road (north-eastern side) from its junction with Hydes Road to the dividing line of property No’s 15/17. There will be no access to The Croft Public House via Chestnut Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Hydes Road, Woden Road South & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 15/07/2026, effective from 13/07/2026. The Borough Council of Sandwell (New Cross Street, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along New Cross Street from its junction with Union Street to the junction of Downes Court. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Union Street, Waterloo Street, Elliotts Road, New Cross Street & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 21/07/2026, effective from 13/07/2026. Purpose – to facilitate excavations to allow National Grid Electricity Distribution to carry out works outside the new site entrance of the Torsion Construction development site. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Crankhall Lane & Keir Road, Wednesbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Crankhall Lane, which will be closed from the dividing line of property No’s 174 & 176 to the southern boundary line of property No.167. A further closure will be in place at Keir Road at the junction of Crankhall Lane for approximately 10 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Freeman Road, Manor Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 31/07/2026, effective from 15/07/2026 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Station Road, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Station Road, which will be closed between the junctions of Clifton Street (eastern side) & Penn Street (western side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Beauty Bank, Halesowen Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work for the closure is expected to be completed by 16/07/2026, effective from 13/07/2026 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Penncricket Lane, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Penncricket Lane, which will be closed between the access (eastern side) to Birmingham Industrial Garage Doors & the railway bridge (western side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Oldbury Road, Titford Lane, Ashes Road, Causeway Green Road, Penncricket Lane & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 16/07/2026 (9:30am-3:30pm). Purpose – to facilitate access to replace a defective service cover and frame by Severn Trent Water.
