What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Clavertye, Elham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Clavertye, Elham, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 40m West of the entrance to Silverdale, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mount Top, Chapel Lane, Gate Lane, High Minnis, Droveway, Clavertye and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Dennes Lane, Lydd, TN29 9DZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dennes Lane, Lydd, on or after 15th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Grange and approximately 35m North of the entrance to Marshlands. The closures will be imposed between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dennes Lane, B2075 Station Road, B2075 Romney Road, A259 Lydd Road, A259 Rhee Wall, A259 Rhee Wall Roundabout, A259 Straight Lane, A259 Brookland Bypass A259, A259 Rectory Lane Roundabout, A259 Brookland Bypass, A259 Rye Road, From Rye Road To Hook Wall, Hook Wall, Cheyne Court, Midley Wall and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Dental Street, Hythe, CT21 5JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Dental Street, Hythe, on or after 13th July 2026 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 50m either side of the Royal Mail Delivery Office, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dental Street, Bartholomew Street, Upper Malthouse Hill, Hillside Street, Church Approach, Oak Walk, Church Road, North Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access & access to the Royal Mail Delivery Office will be maintained during the works.



Green Lane, Lyminge, CT18 8DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Green Lane, Lyminge, on or after 15th July 2026 for up to 7 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside Park View West for approximately 380m in a Northeasterly direction. The closure will be imposed between the hours of 09:30 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hempsted Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Mockbeggar, High Minnis, The Minnis, Green Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Honey Wood Lane, Newchurch, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Vincent Farm Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Honey Wood Lane, Frogmore Lane, From Newchurch To Newchurch Town Boundary, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lymbridge Green, Stowting Common, TN25 6BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lymbridge Green, Stowting Common, on or after 29th July 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Big Pett to outside Yew Tree Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Big Pett, Whatsole Street, From Whatsole Junction With Elchin Hill To Dean Bottom, Dean Bottom, Dean Hill, Thorn Lane, B2068 Stone Street, Lymbridge Green and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lympne Hill, Lympne (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lympne Hill, Lympne, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of St Marys Road and Aldington Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lympne Hill, West Hythe Road, Lower Wall Road, Botolphs Bridge Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, Stone Street, Aldington Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Rampart Road, Hythe, CT21 5BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rampart Road, Hythe, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Tramway Stables, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A259 Rampart Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Saffrons Place, Folkestone, CT20 1RN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Saffrons Place, Folkestone, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Stud Farm Lane, Bladbean, CT4 6NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stud Farm Lane, Bladbean, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 80m South of the entrance to Bladbean Stud Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Stud Farm Lane, Fir Tree Hill, Beech Villa Lane, Beech Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, CT4 6XX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Minnis, Rhodes Minnis, on or after 31st July 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Little Pett, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Minnis, Longage Hill, Canterbury Road, Station Road, Broad Street, Sandling Road, Staple Lane, Pilgrims Way, B2068 Stone Street, Mockbeggar, High Minnis and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Whatsole Street, Elmsted, TN25 5JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Whatsole Street, Elmsted, on or after 14th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed next to Hawthorn Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Maxted Street, Lymbridge Green, Big Pett, Whatsole Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
