What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

A256 London Road, Dover, CT17 0TG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A256 London Road, Dover, on or after 16th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Crabble Meadows and A256 Crabble Hill, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, A256 Charlton Green, A256 Maison Dieu Road, A20 Townwall Street, A2 Jubilee Way, A2 between junction with A256 and Duke Of Yorks Roundabout, A2 between Whitfield Roundabout and junction with A256, A256 Whitfield Hill and A256 Crabble Hill.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Barfrestone Road, Eythorne, CT15 7JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barfrestone Road, Eythorne, on or after 13th July 2026 for up to 82 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Pie Factory Road and Adelaide Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Barfrestone Road, Pie Factory Road, Sandwich Lane, Tye Wood, Roman Way, Adelaide Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Street, Nonington, CT15 4LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Street, Nonington, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 18, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Street, Butter Street, Holt Street, Vicarage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Coombe Valley Road, Dover, CT17 0JT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coombe Valley Road, Dover, on or after 14th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Coombe Valley Road, Barwick Road, St Radigunds Road, Bunkers Hill Road, Hillside Road, Crabble Avenue, Crabble Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, Cherry Tree Avenue and A256 London Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, Crabble Road, Crabble Avenue, Hillside Road, Bunkers Hill Road, St Radigunds Road, Barwick Road and Coombe Valley Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Felderland Lane, Worth, CT13 0DQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Felderland Lane, Worth, on or after 30th July 2026 for up to 10 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Nursery Cottage, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Sandwich Road, A258 Deal Road, Felderland Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Freemens Way, Deal, CT14 9GD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Freemens Way, Deal, on or after 28th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 21, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Freemens Way, Mill Hill, Thornbridge Road, Telegraph Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Liverpool Road, Walmer, CT14 7QW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Liverpool Road, Walmer, on or after 27th July 2026 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Meadowside, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Liverpool Road, St Clare Road, Grams Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Longmete Road, Preston, CT3 1DN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Longmete Road, Preston, on or after 15th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Ladydown Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Longmete Road, The Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Northbourne Road, Great Mongeham, CT14 0HL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northbourne Road, Great Mongeham, on or after 14th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Great Mongeham House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northbourne Road, Willow Road, Beacon Hill, Sutton Road, Mongeham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
