In order to ensure that pedestrian visibility is not obstructed by vehicles when crossing the Zebra Crossing outside No.50 Greyhound Hill NW4, the General effect of the Free and Charged-for Orders will be to:

(a) remove the existing permit holders only parking bays operating 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 1:00pm to 6:00pm on event days outside No.48 Greyhound Hill and outside Nos.57 to 59 Greyhound Hill NW4.

(b) formalise the removal of lengths of waiting restrictions operating 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 1:00pm to 6:00pm on event days on both sides of Greyhound Hill NW4, between Nos.46 to 52 Greyhound Hill in order to accommodate the existing Zebra Crossing outside No.50 Greyhound Hill.

As part of a variety of measures proposed to address vehicular conflicts, concerns about speeding, and improve general road safety in the Greyhound Hill NW4 area, the general effect of the speed limit Order will be to introduce a maximum speed limit of 20mph on the entire length of Greyhound Hill and Church End NW4, under the jurisdiction of the London borough of Barnet.

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 16th July 2026 and the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, or by writing to: The Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
