What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C196 (Part), Tidcombe and Fosbury; from a point approximately 152m south west of its junction with C74 for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction to enable Openreach Limited to carry out frame and cover repair. Alternative route via C196 (unaffected length) – C195 – C74 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. B) C188 (Part), Ramsbury; from outside its property known as No.02 Whittonditch Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a westerly direction to enable Thames Utilities to carry out new connection and other associated works. Alternative route via C206 – B4192 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 July 2026 and the closure will be required until 04 August 2026. This Order will come into operation on 26 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Alternative route via Southcott Road (unaffected length) – Green Drove – Hill Road – Swan Road – Church Street – River Street – Market Place – High Street – Ball Road – Kings Corner and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 29 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required until 31 July 2026. Alternative route via C38 (unaffected length) – C78 – A4 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. Alternative route via Church Hill (unaffected length) – West Overton Village – A4 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 5 days. Q) Church Road (Part), Derry Hill and Studley; from its junction with Studley Lane for a distance of approximately 330m in a south westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works and other associated works. Alternative route via Church Road (unaffected length) – Old Derry Hill – New Road and vice versa. R) Sheepridge, Ogbourne St Andrew; from its junction with Ploughcombe Lane for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out new foul connection. No alternative route is available. This Order which previously came into operation on 01 April 2026 will now recommence on 06 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 5 days. Orders A) to Q) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order R) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Undertake de-veg works, undertake the install of anchors to prevent further movement to the spandrel, undertake fracture repairs. Alternative route via Footpath 77 (unaffected length) – Ivy Lane – Marshfield Road – Dallas Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 28 August 2026. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 31 July 2026.
