Much Marcle - Temporary Road Closure Due To Pole Replacement Works

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1294 From A449 To Upper Walton, Much Marcle, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1294 From A449 To Upper Walton, Much Marcle, from properties Mill Bank Cottage to South Bank. Grid Ref: 364716/233747.

The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the C1303 onto the A4172 onto the B4215 onto the A449 and vice versa. The said closure is required due to pole replacement works and the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 31st of July 2026 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 day.
