Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Temporary Closing Of Restricted Byway Hitchin 003
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists and vehicles from using that length of Restricted Byway Hitchin 003, heading south and east from Friday Furlong, for an approximate distance of 320m.
Alternative route via: Friday Furlong and Westbury Close.

The purpose of the Order is to enable construction works to take place.
The section of Restricted Byway will be closed on or after 06 July 2026 for up to 6 months, when signs are in place.

(Temporary Closing Of Grove Road, Hitchin) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Grove Road, Hitchin from a point 45 metres north east of its junction with Water Lane north eastwards for a distance of approximately 16m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Grove Road, A505 (Nightingale Road/Bunyan Road/Fishponds Road), A600 Bedford Road, The Mead, Bury Mead Road and Grove Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 19 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Mobbsbury Way, Stevenage) Order No.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mobbsbury Way, Stevenage from its junction with the road leading to Nos.1-14 Ross Court north eastwards for a distance of approximately 109m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Mobbsbury Way, Chells Way, A1155 Fairlands Way, B1037 Fairlands Way and Mobbsbury Way.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 22 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B197 High Street, Baldock from its junction with B656 Hitchin Street south eastwards to its junction with the B197 London Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 630m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: B656 (Hitchin Street/Letchworth Road/Baldock Road), A505 (Letchworth Gate/Baldock Bypass) and B197 London Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 20 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Great Gables, Great Ashby from its junction with Fairfield Crescent south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 150m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: Fairfield Crescent, Mendip Way and Great Gables.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 22 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Various Roads In Stevenage And Knebworth) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"):-
1. that length of Watton Road/C29 (unnamed road), Stevenage and Watton Road, Knebworth from its junction with Hertford Road south westwards to its junction with B197 London Road, a distance of approximately 1633m.
An alternative route will be via: Hertford Road and B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road/London Road).

2. that length of Old Lane, Knebworth from its junction with Watton Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Swangleys Lane, a distance of approximately 542m.
An alternative route will be via: Watton Road, B197 London Road and Swangleys Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 20 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of Hayward Close, Stevenage) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hayward Close, Stevenage from a point 124m north east of its junction with Lonsdale Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because electrical connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 20 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 12 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Harkness Way, Hitchin) - Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harkness Way, Hitchin from its junction with Gainsford Crescent north eastwards to its junction with Grovelands Avenue, a distance of approximately 122m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via: Harkness Way, Cambridge Road, Stotfold Road, Frensham Drive, Stotfold Road and Grovelands Avenue.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 4 weeks to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Various Roads In Stevenage, Old Knebworth, Knebworth And Codicote During ‘Bedfest 2026’) - Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads ("the Roads") will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of Roads:-
a) that length of A602 Broadhall Way, Stevenage from its junction with the A1(M) (junction 7) roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the A1072 Gunnells Wood Road, a distance of approximately 268m.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

b) the A1(M) (junction 7) roundabout, Stevenage from its junction with the westbound carriageway of A602 Broadhall Way clockwise to its junction with the A1(M) northbound slip road leading onto the A1(M) (junction 7) roundabout, a distance of approximately 130m.
An alternative route will be via: the A1(M), A1000 (Hertford Road/Welwyn Bypass Road) and the A1(M).

c) that length of Whittle Way, Stevenage from its junction with A602 Broadhall Way north eastwards for a distance of approximately 39m.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the event.

d) that length of Hitchin Lane, Old Knebworth from its junction with B656 Hitchin Road south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Drivers End, a distance of approximately 1031m.
An alternative route will be via: B656 (Hitchin Road/High Street), Bury Lane and Park Lane.

e) that length of Old Knebworth Lane, Stevenage/Knebworth from its junction with B197 London Road south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junctions with Park Lane, a distance of approximately 2425m.
An alternative route will be via: B197 (London Road/Stevenage Road), Station Road, Station Approach and Park Lane.

2. To prohibit all vehicles from waiting, loading and unloading at any time on both sides of the following lengths of Roads, when signs are in place:-
a) that length of Park Lane, Old Knebworth/Knebworth from its northernmost junction with Drivers End north eastwards, south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Station Approach, a distance of approximately 2615m.

b) that length of Drivers End, Codicote from its junction with B656 Hitchin Road north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1149m.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure public safety and prevent accidents for the duration of ‘Eddfest 2026’.
The Order will come into effect from 10 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The event is scheduled over 3 days and will only take ffect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(Temporary Closing Of The Cycle Track Situated On The North East Side Of A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north east side of A1072 Gunnells Wood Road, Stevenage from a point 164m south east of its junction with Lyden Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m ("the Cycle Track").
Pedal Cyclists will need to dismount and use the adjacent footway.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Cycle Track.
The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(Temporary Closing Of The Footpath Situated Between No.364 And No.386 Ripon Road, Stevenage) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated between No.364 and No.386 Ripon Road, Stevenage from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.386 Ripon Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 33m ("the Footpath").
An alternative route will be via: the footpath situated on the north side of No.386 Ripon Road, the footpath fronting No.444 Ripon Road and the footpath situated on the north side of No.299 Ripon Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
The Order will come into effect from 6 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

The Hertfordshire (Rands Meadow, Holwell) (Restriction Of Waiting) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in Holwell as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 2 July 2026 during office hours, at: Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or on-line at: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders, by selecting North Herts and looking at Ref: - NH00526.
