Wiltshire - Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) C329 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with C368 to its junction with A36 to enable Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd to carry out railway bridge maintenance and associated work. Alternative route via A36 – A38C – C369 – C329 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026, and the closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 until 01 August 2026. B) St Marks Avenue (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with A36 to its junction with Campbell Road to enable Scotia Gas Networks to carry out gas main upgrades and associated works. Alternative route via St Marks Avenue (unaffected length) – Bishopdown Road – Barrington Road – A30 – A36 and vice versa. C) Miles Lane (Part), Whiteparish; from its property known as New Manor Farm to its property known as Dean House to enable Wessex Internet to carry out equipment installation and associated works. Alternative route via Miles Lane (unaffected length) – A27 – The Green – Dean Lane and vice versa. D) UC 183501 (Part), Idmiston; from its property known as Mill Leat to its junction with UC 183503 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction with UC 183501 for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out excavation, pole installation and other associated works. Alternative route via UC 183503 (unaffected length) – C285 – UC 183501 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 until 05 August 2026. F) C368 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with Church Lane for a distance of approximately 300m in a westerly direction to enable Scotia Gas Networks to carry out gas main upgrades and associated works. Alternative route via C10 (unaffected length) – C283 – A36 – C64 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 July 2026 and the closure will be required for 2 days. H) C308 (Part), Sedgehill and Semley; from its property known as Peakes Farm to its property known as Field End to enable Openreach Limited to carry out pole and associated works. This Order will come into operation on 09 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) UC 123702 (Part), Durnford; from its property known as Field Barn to its property known as Meadow Barn to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new supply and other associated works. Alternative route via A345 – C292 – Jubilee Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 15:00 for 5 days. J) Lodge Lane, Chute Forest; from its junction with C262 to its junction with UC 305002 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overrun and associated works. This Order will come into operation on 06 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 17 July 2026. K) A360 (Part), Salisbury; from its junction with The Maples for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to cut chamber repairs and associated works. Alternative route via A360 (unaffected length) – C57 – A36 – A360 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 July 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. Orders A) to K) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that on 24 June 2026 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act of 1984”) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which will be to introduce No stopping Mon-Fri 8am-6pm on entrance markings (school keep clear) on the following lengths of road:
- St Thomas Way, Bishopdown, Laverstock and Ford – southern side – from a point 14.5 metres east of its junction with Pilgrim Mead to a point 23 metres west of that junction;
- High Road, Britford – southern side – from a point 34.5 metres east of the vehicular access to Longford Primary School to a point 17.5 metres west of that junction;
- Newton Tony (outside Newton Tony C of E Primary School) – eastern side – from a point 42.9 metres south of its junction with Station Road to a point 7.8 metres north of that junction.
A copy of the Orders and plans may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Act of 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984 or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Orders will come into operation on 6 July 2026.
