The above order, made on 19 June 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert part of Footpath 27 and part of Footpath 28, Corfe Castle as shown on the order map as follows:

From the existing paths:

Footpath 27, Corfe Castle

The full width of the path from the unaffected part of Footpath 27 at SY 99183 80509 generally south, south east then south to SY 99189 80374 then south west to SY 99134 80321.

The full width of the path from the unaffected part of Footpath 28 at SY 99027 80481 south east to SY 99041 80468 then continuing south east to SY 99134 80321.

Footpath 27, Corfe Castle

From the unaffected part of Footpath 27 at SY 99183 80509 generally south west for approx. 86m to SY 99126 80444 then generally south south west for approx. 23m to pedestrian gate and bridge at SY 99123 80431 then generally south south east for approx. 103m to SY 99134 80321.

Width: 2.5m except pedestrian gate at SY 99123 80431 to BS5709:2018, 1.2m.

Footpath 28, Corfe Castle

From the unaffected part of Footpath 28 at SY 99027 80481 then approx. 108m generally east south east to SY 99126 80444 where it meets Footpath 27.

Width: 2.5m

A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at Reception, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester during normal office hours. Copies are also available on our website at www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/row-orders.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Alastair Beaven, Definitive Map Team, Spatial Planning, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ. (Ref: RW/P287), or via email to alastair.beaven@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk, not later than 30 July 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. Any letters received will be made available for public inspection. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

The full width of the path from the unaffected part of Footpath 2 at SZ 02003 79747 generally west to SZ 01996 79746 then generally north west to SZ 01848 79870 then generally north to SZ 01844 79907 and north north west then north west to the unaffected part of Footpath 2 at SZ 01674 80195.

From the unaffected part of Footpath 2 at SZ 02003 79747, approx. 12m north north west to SZ 01999 79762 across a pedestrian bridge then approx. 214m generally north west to SZ 01846 79904, approx. 6m west south west across the stream to SZ 01841 79901 then approx. 338m north north west to the unaffected part of Footpath 2 at SZ 01674 80195.

Width 2.5m except at pedestrian bridge at SZ 01999 79762 width: 1m.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Dorset Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order.

If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
