What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(OXFORD CITY – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.8) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 29 June 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order – in accordance with parking policy & planning permissions – is to amend the eligibility of the following properties to apply for Residents & Visitors Parking Permits as follows:

1. Lye Valley – exclude No.75 Town Furze from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits,

2. Marston North – exclude No.81 & No.83 Cherwell Drive from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits,

3. North Summertown – exclude the two new properties at No.34 Davenant Road from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors parking permits.

4. North Oxford – include No.101 Bainton Road in the list of properties eligible to apply for visitors’ parking permits only.

Additionally, the following administrative amendments have been made as a result of inconsistencies being identified within Order:

5. Jericho – exclude the two flats at No.6a King Street from eligibility to apply for resident’s parking permits & residents’ visitors’ parking permits

6. North Oxford – confirm that (as per existing arrangements) “South Lodge” at No.128 Banbury Road is eligible to apply for both resident’s parking permits and residents’ visitors’ parking permits.

The previously notified increases in certain charges from April 2026 have also been updated within the order schedules in respect of some Residents and Business Permits, Pay & Display parking and parking bay suspensions.

The order further amends the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford City – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 29 June 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
