What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Footpaths, East Knighton
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Various Footpaths, East Knighton as listed: [i] SE27/25, East Knighton from grid reference SY 81179 85699 to grid reference SY 81134 85898; [ii] SE27/4, East Knighton from grid reference SY 81179 85699 to grid reference SY 81331 85797. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13th July 2026 for a period of 26 weeks, however it is anticipated it will be completed by 13th September 2026.
This closure is required to provide Wessex Water with safe access to replace the degrading water main on the public highway.

Temporary Traffic Management Notice, A352 Forston
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 9th July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 23rd July 2026.
Working times will be between the hours of 5am and 5pm, works will not take place at night or over the weekend.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of the notice is to impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph within the working area (as indicated by signs on site), at any point along A352 Forston between its junctions with Herrison Road and Frys Lane to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle.

Temporary Closure of Weymouth Bay Avenue, Weymouth
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along WEYMOUTH BAY AVENUE, WEYMOUTH between its junctions with Dorchester Road and Cleveland Avenue, a distance of approximately 110 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 6th July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th July 2026.
This Order will enable Scotia Gas Networks, safe access to carry out gas mains replacement.
An alternative route will be signed using: Dorchester Road - Monmouth Avenue - Cleveland Avenue.

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along QUEENS AVENUE, DORCHESTER, from its junction with Clarence Road for a distance to the east of approximately 50 metres.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 20th July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28th August 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council safe access for installation of raised table junction and zebra crossing.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 20 July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 July 2026.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works.
