(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the length of road set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the road is closed.
The Order is necessary to enable OPENREACH and WALES & WEST UTILITIES respectively to carry out civil engineering works and the Highway Authority to carry out any ancillary maintenance works in the road.
The Order will come into force on the 20th July 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 3 weeks to complete.
SCHEDULE
Cefn Coed Road will be closed from its junction with Cwmclais Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 100m along its length.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via the unaffected section of Cefn Coed Road, Bwlch Road, Brynna Road, Aelfryn Terrace, Heol Cwm Mawr, Dan Y Coed Hill, Heol Y Parc, Heol Y Parc to Cwmclais Link Road and Cwmclais Road.
Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained.
