Salford - Prohibition Of Waiting, Limited Waiting Parking Place, Disabled Persons Parking Place And Amendment / Revocation
What is happening?
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALFORD proposes to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The titles and effects of the Orders will be as follows -
1. CITY OF SALFORD (ST STEPHEN STREET AT ITS JUNCTION WITH CHAPEL STREET, BLACKFRIARS AND TRINITY) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 2026: PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES (With exemption for e-scooters being used in the Trial) - St Stephen Street, from its junction with Chapel Street for a distance of 11.4 metres in a northerly direction.
2. CITY OF SALFORD (FORD STREET, BLACKFRIARS AND TRINITY) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026: ONE WAY TRAFFIC (with exemption for contraflow cyclists) - Ford Street, from its junction with Chapel Street for a distance of 34.6 metres in a northerly direction - Permitted Direction of Travel - Northbound (towards Cleminson Street).
3. CITY OF SALFORD (FORD STREET, BLACKFRIARS AND TRINITY) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026: 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT - Ford Street, full length (between its junctions with Chapel Street and Cleminson Street).
4. CITY OF SALFORD (FORD STREET, BLACKFRIARS AND TRINITY) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LIMITED WAITING PARKING PLACE, DISABLED PERSONS PARKING PLACE AND AMENDMENT / REVOCATION) ORDER 2026 No Waiting at Any Time - Ford St (i) west side, from the northerly extended kerbline of Chapel Street to the southerly extended kerbline of Cleminson Street (ii) east side, from the northerly extended kerbline of Chapel Street, for a distance of 45.9m in a northerly direction; and (iii) east side, from the southerly extended kerbline of Cleminson Street, for a distance of 40m in a southerly direction (various existing prohibitions and restrictions of waiting will be revoked and replaced with (i), (ii) and (iii) above). Limited Waiting Parking Place, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, Max Stay 30 mins, No return within 90 mins - Ford St, east side, from a point 52m south of the southerly extended kerbline of Cleminson Street, for a distance of 35.6m in a southerly direction Parking Place Reserved for Disabled Badge Holders (At All Times on All Days) - Ford St, east side, from a point 40m south of the southerly extended kerbline of Cleminson Street, for a distance of 12m in a southerly direction Extension of Westbound Bus Lane on Chapel Street - it is proposed to extend the westbound bus lane on Chapel Street by 94m, so that it will commence at a point 65.9m west of the projected western kerbline of Trinity Way, and will continue to a point 20m east of Islington Way.
Copies of the proposed Orders, the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders, copies of the Orders it is proposed to amend / revoke and the scheme plan may be inspected at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
