THE A303 AND A36 TRUNK ROADS (WYLYE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A303 and A36 trunk roads in the County of Wiltshire to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place on or after 20 July 2026 and be completed by 30 September 2026.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise:
(a) the overnight closure (20.00 to 06.00) of:
(i) the A303 eastbound and westbound between Chicklade Junction and Deptford Junction;
(ii) the A36 northbound and southbound exit slip roads at Deptford Junction;
(iii) the A303 westbound entry slip road at Deptford Junction;
(iv) the A303 eastbound and westbound entry and exit slip roads at Wylye Junction;
(b) the 24 hour closure of the laybys on the above section of the A303.
During the closures, traffic would be diverted via junctions of the A303 and local roads.
The closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer or works vehicles) and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The Order would come into force on 18 July 2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
