ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(COLNE ROAD AREA, BURNLEY, BURNLEY BOROUGH) (PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council propose to make the above pedestrian crossings under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Introduce signal controlled crossings in the following locations:
a) Hebrew Road, Burnley, from a point 9 metres west of its junction with the Centreline of Colne Road for a distance of 4 metres in a north westerly direction;
b) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 15.31 metres northeast of its junction with the Centreline of Hebrew Road for a distance of 4 metres in a north easterly direction;
c) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 12.71 metres southwest of its junction with the Centreline of Hebrew Road for as distance of 4 metres in a south westerly direction;
d) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 15.29 metres south of its junction with the Centreline of Casterton Avenue for a distance of 3.96 metres in a southerly direction;
e) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 13.9 metres north of its junction with the Centreline of Casterton Avenue for a distance of 4.08 metres in a northerly direction;
f) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 6.15 metres north of its junction with the Centreline of Murray Street for a distance of 28.8 metres in a southerly direction;
g) Colne Road, Burnley, Northbound, from a point 31.83 metres south of its junction with the Centreline of Rosebery Street for a distance of 38 metres in a southerly direction;
h) Colne Road, Burnley, Southbound, from a point 51.34 metres south of its junction with the Centreline of Hind Street for a distance of 26.27 metres in a southerly direction;
i) Colne Road, Burnley, Northbound, from a point 1.26 metres south its junction with the Centreline of Keswick Road for a distance of 42.69 metres in a southerly direction;
j) Colne Road, Burnley, Southbound from a point 21.62 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Shuttleworth Street for a distance of 30.34 metres in a northerly direction;
k) Casterton Avenue, Burnley, from a point 17.97 metres east of its junction with the Centreline of Colne Road for a distance of 3.9 metres in an easterly direction;
l) Windermere Avenue, Burnley, from a point 21.15 metres west of its junction with the Centreline of Colne Road for a distance of 3.9 metres in a westerly direction.
2. Introduce zebra crossings in the following locations:
a) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 9.16 metres northeast of its junction with the Centreline of Hallwell Street for a distance of 40.62 metres in a north easterly direction;
b) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 4.43 metres northeast of its junction with the Centreline of Colne Road (U40973) for a distance of 30.27 metres in a north easterly direction;
c) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 9.88 metres southwest of its junction with the Centreline of Heap Street for a distance of 26.13 metres in a south easterly direction;
d) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 4.73 metres northeast of its junction with the Centreline of Barden Lane for a distance of 13.91 metres in an north easterly direction;
e) Colne Road, Burnley, from a point 2.91 metres northeast its junction with the Centreline of Barden Lane for a distance of 17.72 metres in a north easterly direction;
f) Briercliffe Road, Burnley, from a point 7.52 metres southwest of its junction with the Centreline of Ribblesdale Street for a distance of 23.27 metres in a south westerly direction.
A copy of the relevant notice and plan indicating the location of the crossing may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Burnley Borough Council, Town Hall, Manchester Road, Burnley, BB11 9SA and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
