London Rd - Proposed Puffin Crossing And Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
PROPOSED PUFFIN CROSSING AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS, A2047 LONDON ROAD, HILSEA WARD (P019-26)
1. Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council proposes to install a
Puffin Crossing on London Road A2047 between its junctions with Battenburg Avenue and Shadwell Road.
2. In order to accommodate the proposed Puffin Crossing and associated controlled area, it is also proposed to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow line) restrictions at the following locations:
a. London Road, north-west side from its junction with Shadwell Road to the existing waiting restrictions at the entrance to the Tesco car park approximately 22 metres south-west of its junction with Ophir Road;
b. London Road, south-east side outside No. 334 between the existing waiting restrictions and the bus stop cage markings outside No 334.
3. Further highway improvements within the scheme include the widening of the existing southbound bus lane, to enable buses to safely overtake cyclists without encroaching into the general traffic lane.

5. Persons wishing to object to these proposals must do so by sending their representations to
or by post to TRO Team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P019-26 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 24 July 2026) stating the grounds for the objection.
