What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER
On 29/06/2026, Angus Council made The Angus Council (St James’s Road, Forfar) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving and Waiting) Order 2026, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, so that carriageway and footway work may be undertaken. The Order prohibits all vehicular traffic from driving and waiting in or on St James’s Road, Forfar (A932) between its junctions with Dundee Road/Dundee Loan (A926) and New Road. The order will come into effect on 06/07/2026, continuing for a period of four weeks. However, the maximum duration in terms of the Act is 18 months. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Dundee Loan (A926), Craig O’Loch Road(A926), Castle Street (A926), Brechin Road (A926), Market Street, North Street (B9128), South Street (B9128), Academy Street (A932) ands St James’s Road (A932). The reverse route applies. Access for pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. Vehicular access will be maintained to East Sunnyside, Lyninghills, Laural Bank, Lyninghills Lane, Viewmount and Reid Park Road.
