What is happening?

THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD HUMPS AND SPEED CUSHIONS (C11, WEST ROAD, ANNFIELD PLAIN)

In accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 Durham County Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 90G of the Highways Act 1980, propose to construct speed cushions complying with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. The scheme will comprise of 5 road humps and 9 speed cushions at the following locations on the C11, West Road, Annfield Plain:-

Road Humps:

  1. Approximately 18 metres west of No.18 Loud Terrace.
  2. Adjacent to No.13 Loud Terrace.
  3. Approximately 23 metres east of No.1 Loud Terrace.
  4. Adjacent to No’s 23 and 24 Annfield Place.
  5. Approximately 25 metres west of the junction with the C126 Fairview Terrace.

Speed Cushions:

  1. Adjacent to No’s 28 and 29 Derwent Terrace.
  2. Adjacent to No.16 Derwent Terrace.
  3. Adjacent to No.3 Derwent Terrace.
  4. Approximately 60 metres east of No.1 Derwent Terrace.
  5. Approximately 41 metres west of No.4 Greenfield Terrace.
  6. Adjacent to No.2 Greenfield Terrace.
  7. Approximately 18 metres east of the junction of Scafell Court.
  8. Adjacent to No9 Clavering Place and No.24 West Road.
  9. Adjacent to No.14 West Road.

Please refer to plans attached to this notice for locations, dimensions, layout and construction details of the road humps and speed cushions.

Full details of the proposal are available to view at Stanley Library during normal opening hours and via the council’s website.
