Station Road - Temporary Road Closure Due To HV Electrical Installation Works

The County Council of Durham (Unc 12.27 Station Lane, Pelton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026

The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A 393 metre length of Unc 12.27 Station Lane, Pelton from the junction with C5 Front Street at the northern side of the closure, in a southerly direction to the corner of No. 1 Pelton House Farm Estate. (The works will be undertaken in 3 phases) to enable HV electrical installation works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of the closure a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from the north side of the closure, in a westerly direction on Front Street/Pelton Lane, then south west on Pelton Lane, Newfield, then east on Front Street, Newfield to the southern end of closure and vice versa. The proposed works are required from 8am on Monday 20/7/2026 and the duration of the works are anticipated to be 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
