What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

THANET AREA



B2190 Spitfire Way, Ramsgate & B2050 Manston Road East, Minster (40MPH SPEED LIMIT & PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow Fuel Fest to take place, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2190 Spitfire Way, Ramsgate & B2050 Manston Road East, Minster, on or after 25th July 2026 for up to 12 hours or until the event has taken place.

Restrictions will be imposed between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2190 Spitfire Way will have a mandatory 40MPH speed limit imposed the entire length.

B2050 Manston Road East will have a prohibition of parking imposed between the junctions of B2190 Spitfire Way and Manston Court Road.



Effingham Street, Ramsgate, CT11 9DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Effingham Street, Ramsgate, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 17, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Effingham Street, George Street, High Street, Cannon Road, Elms Avenue, Queen Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Grinsell Hill, Ramsgate, CT12 5DP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Grinsell Hill, Ramsgate, on or after 8th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 125m West of Thorne Cottages, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Grinsell Hill, Cottington Road, Cottington Link, A299 Sevenscore Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Mount Pleasant, Tothill Street, Foxborough Lane, The Lanes and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Northumberland Avenue, Margate, CT9 3BN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Northumberland Avenue, Margate, on or after 22nd July 2026 for up to 24 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 65 to the junction of Northdown Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Road, Foreland Avenue, Northdown Park Road, Northumberland Avenue and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Princes Street, Margate, CT9 1QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Princes Street, Margate, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 13. The one-way Order will be suspended the entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2055 Cecil Street, Hawley Square and Addington Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Prospect Road, Minster, CT12 4EL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Prospect Road, Minster, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Prospect Road, Augustine Road, Freemans Road, Monkton Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Star Lane Link, A256 Haine Road & A256 New Haine Road, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow surfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Star Lane Link, A256 Haine Road & A256 New Haine Road, Margate, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Star Lane Link will be closed at the junction of A256 Haine Road roundabout.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A256 Haine Road, Nash Road, Star Lane and Star Lane Link.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Star Lane Link, Star Lane, Nash Road, A256 Haine Road, A254 Pearce Signs Roundabout and A256 Haine Road.

A256 Haine Road will be closed between the junctions of Star Lane Link and A256 New Haine Road.

A256 New Haine Road will be closed at the junction of A256 Haine Road roundabout.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A256 Haine Road, A254 Pearce Signs Roundabout, A254 Margate Road, A255 Park Road, A255 High Street, A255 Nethercourt Hill, A255 Nethercourt Circus, A255 Canterbury Road East, A299 Canterbury Road West, A299 Hengist Way, A256 Canterbury Road West, A256 Haine Road, A256 New Haine Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Sussex Gardens, Birchington, CT7 9SN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sussex Gardens, Birchington, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 12, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kent Gardens, Rutland Gardens, Lincoln Gardens, Sussex Gardens and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Birchington, CT7 0HW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Birchington, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside The Annex to the junction of Dilnot Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Acol Hill, B2050 Manston Road, B2190 Spitfire Way, B2190 Un-named Road From Minster Road To Columbus Avenue, Minster Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Willsons Road, Ramsgate, CT11 9LY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willsons Road, Ramsgate, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 2 flat 1, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vale Road, Grange Road, Willsons Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Various Roads, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate, on or after 22nd July 2026 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2052 Hartsdown Road will be closed at the junctions of Tivoli Road and Shottendane Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2052 Hartsdown Road, B2052 George V Avenue, A28 Canterbury Road, Minster Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.

Tivoli Road from the junction of B2052 Hartsdown Road to outside number 71.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tivoli Road, Tivoli Park Avenue, All Saints Avenue, B2052 Hartsdown Road and vice versa.

B2052 College Road at the junctions of Tivoli Road and Nash Road.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Nash Road from outside number 1 to outside number 89.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Nash Road, Star Lane, Star Lane Link, Star Lane, Manston Court Road, B2050 Manston Road East, B2050 Manston Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.

Shottendane Road from outside Shottendane Nursing Home to the junctions of B2052 Hartsdown Road and Nash Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shottendane Road, B2050 Manston Road, Manston Road and vice versa.

Manston Road from outside Grange View to the junction of Shottendane Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Manston Road, B2050 Manston Road, Shottendane Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
