Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SEVENOAKS AREA
B2042 Wheatsheaf Hill, Ide Hill, TN14 6BS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of UK Power Networks works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2042 Wheatsheaf Hill, Ide Hill, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Whitley Farm.
The alternative route is via B2024 Cold Arbor Road, A25 Westerham Road/Main Road/High Street/Westerham Road, B2026 Hosey Hill/Hosey Common Road, B2026 Main Road, B269 Spout Lane/Pootings Road, B2042 Ide Hill Road/Green Lane/Wheatsheaf Hill and vice versa.
B2176 Rogues Hill, Penshurst, TN11 8DB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2176 Rogues Hill, Penshurst, on or after 22nd July 2026 for up to 1 night between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Wall Cottage.
The alternative route is via Penhurst Road B2176, High Street, Rogues Hill B2176, Penhurst Road B2176, Bidborough Ridge B2176, London Road A26, Quarry Hill Road A26, Railway Approach B2260, High Street B2260, London Road B245, Tonbridge Road B245, Leigh Road, Stock Green Road B2027, Hildenborough B2027, High Street, Penhurst Road B2176, Tonbridge Road B245, Moorden Lane, Station Hill, Penhurst Road B2176 and vice versa.
Chipstead Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 2AN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chipstead Lane, Sevenoaks, on or after 25th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside 124.
The alternative route is via Chipstead Lane, Bullfinch Lane, A224 London Road, A25 The Square/Worships Hill/Westerham Road, Homedean Road, High Street and vice versa.
Halstead Lane, Knockholt, Knockholt Road & Parkside, Halstead, TN14 7JH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Scotia Gas Networks works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Halstead Lane, Knockholt, Knockholt Road and Parkside, Halstead, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 43 days or until the works have been completed.
Halstead Lane and Knockholt Road will be closed between Main Road and Applegarth.
Parkside will be closed at the junction of Knockholt Road.
The alternative route is via Main Road, Old London Road, Star Hill Road, A224 Polhill, A224 London Road, Shoreham Lane, Shoreham Road and vice versa.
Harrow Road, Knockholt, TN14 7JR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Thames Water Utilities works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harrow Road, Knockholt, on or after 12th July 2026 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of Main Road.
The alternative route is via Harrow Road, Main Road and vice versa.
High Street, Farningham, DA4 0DH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because a new gas service is to be installed, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of High Street, Farningham, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside The Old Bull Stores.
The alternative route is via High Street, A225 Eynsford Road, A20 London Road, Dartford Road and vice versa.
Horton Road, Horton Kirby & South Darenth, Skinney Lane, Horton Kirby & A20 London Road, Farningham DA4 9DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow SGN mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on Horton Road, Horton Kirby and South Darenth, Skinney Lane, Horton Kirby and A20 London Road, Farningham will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit between Braeside Surgery and A225 Dartford Road and vice versa. The current 40MPH speed limit will be suspended for the duration of these works.
Works are planned from 25th July 2026, with estimated completion by 6th November 2026, or where stated on a valid Permit (XW016W123234371-03097-04 - Scotia Gas Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network
Horton Road will be closed between Station Road and Jacobs Lane between 25th July 2026 and 10th September 2026
Horton Road will be closed between Jacobs Lane and The Street between 17th September 2026 and 6th November 2026.
Skinney Lane will be closed for its entire length between 25th July 2026 and 10th September 2026 .
A20 London Road, Farningham will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit between Braeside Surgery and A225 Dartford Road and vice versa for the duration of these works. The current 40MPH speed limit be suspended.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Station Road, A225 Dartford Road, A20 London Road, Eglantine Lane, Lombard Street, The Street, Horton Road and vice versa.
Lingfield Road, Edenbridge, TN8 5HW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of resurfacing works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lingfield Road, Edenbridge, on or after 24th July 2026 for up to 6 nights between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Mont St Aignan Way to the County boundary.
The alternative route is via Lingfield Road, B2026 Mont St Aignan Way/High Street/Mill Hill, B2028 Marsh Green Road/Moor Lane/Racecourse Road, Station Road, Crowhurst Road, Haxted Road and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way, Kemsing, TN15 6SG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of gas mains replacement and South East Water works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Kemsing, on or after 23rd July 2026 for up to 22 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Childsbridge Lane and The Chase.
The alternative route is via Pilgrims Way, Pilgrims Way East, A225 Station Road/Sevenoaks Road/Otford Road, A25 Seal Road/High Street, School Lane/Church Street, Childsbridge Lane and vice versa.
Tinkerpot Lane, West Kingsdown, TN15 6AA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tinkerpot Lane, West Kingsdown, on or after 6th July 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Woodlands Cottages.
The alternative route is via Tinkerpot Lane, School Lane, A20 London Road, Botsom Lane, Maplescombe Lane, Beesfield Lane, A225 Eynsford Road, A225 High Street, Bower Lane, Goodbury Road and vice versa.
