Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA
Ashford Road, New Romney (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ashford Road, New Romney, on or after 21st July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The closure will be between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Ashford Road will be closed approximately 35m East of Grasslands Turf Farm and opposite Last Chance Animal Rescue Centre.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ashford Road, A259 High Street, A259 Dymchurch Road, St Marys Road, Lane From Junction With Turnagate Cottage To Hope Lane, Hope All Saints and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cherry Garden Lane, Folkestone, CT19 5LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cherry Garden Lane, Folkestone, on or after 22nd July 2026 until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cherry Garden Lane, A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Folkestone, CT19 4LF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Folkestone, on or after 22nd July 2026 for up to 40 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Cheriton Court Road and Horn Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Horn Street, A259 Seabrook Road, A259 Sandgate Esplanade, A259 Sandgate High Street, B2063 Military Road, B2063 Risborough Lane, Church Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Crete Road West, Folkestone, CT18 7EQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crete Road West, Folkestone, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Gibraltar Lane and A260 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Crete Road West, Elvington Lane, Aerodrome Road, A260 Spitfire Way, A260 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hope All Saints, St Mary In The Marsh, TN29 0DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hope All Saints, St Mary In The Marsh, on or after 21st July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 70m West of Hope Lane, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hope All Saints, Ashford Road, A259 High Street, A259 Dymchurch Road, St Marys Road, Lane From Junction With Turnagate Cottage To Hope Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Lympne Hill, Lympne (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lympne Hill, Lympne, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed approximately 55m South of the junction of Aldington Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Lympne Hill, West Hythe Road, Burmarsh Road, A259 Dymchurch Road, A259 Scanlons Bridge, A261 London Road, C564 From Lympne Town Boundary To A261 London Road and Aldington Road.
The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Aldington Road, C564 From Lympne Town Boundary To A261 London Road, A261 London Road, A259 Military Road, A259 Red Lion Square, A259 Dymchurch Road, Burmarsh Road, West Hythe Road and Lympne Hill.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Road Of Remembrance, Folkestone, CT20 1SL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Road Of Remembrance, Folkestone, on or after 23rd July 2026 until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of West Terrace and Marine Terrace, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Road Of Remembrance, West Terrace, Bouverie Place, Bouverie Square, A2033 Middelburg Square, Foresters Way, A2033 Grace Hill, A2033 New Street, A2033 Bradstone Road, A2033 Dover Road, A260 Southern Way, A260 The Tram Road, A260 Harbour Street, A260 Harbour Approach Road, A260 Marine Parade and A260 Marine Terrace.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A260 Lower Sandgate Road, A260 Harbour Street, A2033 Harbour Street, A2033 Tontine Street, A2033 Dover Road, A2033 Grace Hill, A2033 Shellons Street, A2033 Middelburg Square, Cheriton Place, Sandgate Road, West Terrace and Road Of Remembrance.
The alternative route for any pedestrian through traffic is via Lower Sandgate Road, A260 Harbour Street, A2033 Harbour Street, A2033 Tontine Street, A2033 Dover Road, Rendezvous Street, Sandgate Road, West Terrace, The Leas and vice versa.
Robin Hood Lane, Lydd, TN29 9JJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Robin Hood Lane, Lydd, on or after 22nd July 2026 for up to 5 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Dengemarsh Road and Tourney Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Robin Hood Lane, Dengemarsh Road, Tourney Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rye Road & Rectory Lane, Brookland (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow street lighting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rye Road & Rectory Lane, Brookland, on or after 7th July 2026 until the works have been completed.
Closures will be between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Rye Road will be closed at its approach and its junction with A259 Rectory Lane roundabout.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rye Road, Salters Lane, Harvey Road, A259 Rye Road, A259 Brookland Bypass, A259 Rectory Lane Roundabout and vice versa.

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Southenay Lane, Sellindge, on or after 20th July 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed
The road will be closed approximately 55m East of Highlands, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Southenay Lane, Broad Street, Blind House Lane, Swan Lane, A20 Main Road, Stone Hill and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone, CT19 4PG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Tile Kiln Lane, Folkestone, on or after 22nd July 2026 until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Turner Free School to near the junction of Ashley Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tile Kiln Lane, Ashley Avenue, B2064 Cheriton High Street, B264 Cheriton Road, A2034 Cherry Garden Avenue, Cherry Garden Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
