What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKPOOL

(CAXTON AVENUE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)  ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 1st July 2026 the Blackpool Borough Council made the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers to facilitate carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing. The effect of the Order will be to:

(a)  Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Caxton Avenue between its junction with Norcliffe Road and its junction with Montpelier Avenue.

(b)  Prohibit all vehicles from entering or proceeding in any direction along the length of Caxton Avenue between its junction with Everest Drive and its junction with Norcliffe Road.

(c)   No left or right turn from Erith Grove on to Caxton Avenue.

Pedestrian access to premises will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access will be maintained wherever possible. All diversion routes will be clearly signed and maintained on site.

The proposed Order will commence on 15 July 2026 and continue in force for eighteen months or until the sooner completion of the aforesaid works. It is expected that the works will take 18 days.
