(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of Public Footpath RT26 in Pattishall as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath is unaffected.

RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The full length of Public Footpath RT26 is to be closed. The route commences off Church Street, Pattishall, at point A on the Order map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP6709 5426. The footpath proceeds through the churchyard, initially north-east then turning south-east for a total of 68 metres to terminate at point B at the junction with Church Street at NGR SP6715 5426. The route to be closed is shown by a solid black line between points A and B.

REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of  the safety to allow the reconstruction of the Church boundary wall.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 20th July 2026 and will continue in force for up to 6 months.  An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary.  However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: The alternative route for the public commences on the footway of Church Street at point C on the map at NGR SP6708 5426. The route proceeds along the footway, initially south-east, crossing The Crescent and continuing north-east on the footway of Church Street for a total of 76 metres, terminating at point D at NGR SP6715 5425. The alternative route is shown by a broken black line between points C-D.
