Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Worton Parish – Road through Over Worton
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 22 June 2026
Coming into force: 29 June 2026

This Order is being introduced because of overhead low voltage electrical works which are anticipated to be completed on 10 July 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of the road through Over Worton between Grove Cottage and Worton Edge. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic affected will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Banbury, Various Footpath Closures
Date of Order: 29 June 2026
Coming into force: 6 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of upgrades to electricity network which is anticipated to be completed 30 September 2026.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily parts of Footpaths:

1. Kedleston Rise Footway 6 - 24 July;

2. From Harewood Road to Aston Close 10 - 19 August;3.  Harewood Road, Kedleston Rise and Arbury Close 6 July to 30 September.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for pedestrian access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of footpath. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. National Grid will try to maintain footways and footpaths with walk boards and only close and divert if needed. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18140/AC)

Notice of Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
Banbury, Cherwell Street junctions
Date of Order: 29 June 2026
Coming into force: 6 July 2026

This Order is being introduced because of Resurfacing works as part of the Cherwell St Improvement Scheme works which are to be completed 15 July. This will operate between 20:00 and 06:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the following junctions joining into Cherwell Street: Concord Avenue, Windsor St, Bridge St, Lower Cherwell St, George St. Exemptions are included for emergency vehicles and the Works. Access for buses will be maintained but via Bridge St only. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Alternative routes will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T18033/AC)

Coming into force: 20/1/2026

This Order was introduced because of building development works in the area and the footpath is closed for safety of the public. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of Footpath No.355/13/50 south of Wigginton Road and north of Paradise Farm. The alternative route is signed via a parallel track. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when and where the measures are in force. This order, with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport will remain in force until January 2028 or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16751/RMF)

This Order is being introduced because of demolition of the disused rail abutment which is anticipated to be completed on 28 August 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the section of the unnamed road from the A3400 northwards to the High Street for works between Lime Kiln House and Halt Farm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic affected will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. This Order is being introduced because of CCTV investigation and jetting of the drainage system, working 0930 to 1530 hours and which is anticipated to be completed 14 July 2026. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in parts of High Street, Lower Street, The Rock, Bloxham Road and Horn Hill. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic affected will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
