What is happening?
The Council of the City of Salford has made the following
Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
CITY OF SALFORD (FIDDLERS LANE) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2026 The effect of the Order will be: No Waiting at Any Time on: Fiddlers Lane: west side, from the extended north western kerbline of B5320 Liverpool Road for a distance of 70 metres in a northerly direction. East side, from the extended north western kerbline of B5320 Liverpool Road to a point 33 metres north from the north western extended kerbline of Fiddlers Lane (leading to Holly Court and St Clements Court). East side, from a point 58 metres north from the extended north western extended kerbline of Fiddlers Lane (leading to Holly Court and St Clements Court) to a point 11 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of George Street. Fiddlers Lane (leading to Holly Court and St Clements Court): both sides, from the extended eastern kerbline of Fiddlers Lane for a distance of 75 metres on a north easterly direction.
CITY OF SALFORD (FIDDLERS LANE, SALFORD) SCHOOL KEEP CLEAR MARKINGS AND AMENDMENT ORDER 2026 The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Stopping on School Entrance Markings Fiddlers Lane (Fiddlers Lane Community Primary School) Monday- Friday 8am-5pm: both sides, from a point 33 metres north from the northwestern extended kerbline of Fiddlers Lane (leading to Holly Court and St Clements Court), for a distance of 25 metres in a northerly direction. Fiddlers Lane east side (Kids Planet Nursery Irlam) Monday - Friday 7am -6pm: from a point 11m south from the southern extended kerbline of George Street to a point 14 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of George Street. The Orders were made on the 23rd June 2026 and will come into effect on the 6th July 2026. These proposals were originally advertised on 19th June 2025 and have since been amended. The No Waiting restriction lengths have been reduced from 114 metres to 75 metres.
Anyone wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any provisions contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within 6 weeks from 23rd June 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose.
