TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than 21 days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any pedestrians to proceed on;
i. Ellison Place Footbridge for its entire length, and
ii. Ellison Place Footbridge Link to Centre Hotel for its entire length.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. The Order will come into operation on 7th August 2026 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed for a period of up to 5 years, however, the footpaths will only be closed as and when required.
