Coming into force: 14/7/2026
This Order is being introduced because of electrical and fibre optic cable installation works in the eastbound carriageway which are anticipated to be completed December 2027. The effect of the Order is to reduce the existing 50 mph speed limit to 30 mph along that part of the A40 Northern Bypass from the B4150 (Marsh Lane, Marston) slip road to a point 100 metres east of the Electricity Distribution Site. Exemptions are included for emergency service vehicles. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford Area – A40) (Speed Limits) Order 2022 will be temporarily suspended. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
