RESPECT OF CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING
WORKS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following
stretches of road:
l Old Heath Road closed from its junction with
Willenhall Road to outside 114 Old Heath Road. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Willenhall Road, Dean’s Road and vice
versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from
13 July 2026 until 7 August 2026, between the hours of
09:30 and 15:30 only.
l Victoria Road closed from its junction with Cannock Road
to its junction with Bushbury Road. Vehicular Diversion
Route: Cannock Road, Bushbury Road and vice versa.
It is anticipated that the closure will operate from
3 August 2026 until 11 August 2026, between the hours
of 09:30 and 15:30 only.
l Stafford Road (Three Tuns Island) closed in its entirety.
Vehicular Diversion Route: NB; (A449. M54, A460)

Stafford Road. Vehicular Diversion Route: SB; (A449.
M54, A460) Stafford Road, Stafford Street,
Cannock Road, M54, Stafford Road. Vehicular Diversion
Route: EB; Three Tuns Lane, Elston Hall Lane,
Bushbury Lane, Stafford Road. Vehicular Diversion Route:
WB; Marsh Lane, Patshull Avenue, Wobaston Road,
Stafford Road. It is anticipated that the closure will operate
from 9 August 2026 until 28 August 2026, between the
hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only.
l George Street closed from its junction with Hall Park
Street to its junction with Ettingshall Road. Vehicular
Diversion Route: Ettingshall Road, Bilston Road,
Wellington Road, Ward Street and vice versa. It is
anticipated that the closure will operate from
12 August 2026 until 21 August 2026, between the hours
of 08:00 and 17:00 only.
l Jeddo Street closed from its junction with Paul Street to
its junction with Pool Street.
l Vehicular Diversion Route: Paul Street, Pool Street and
vice versa. It is anticipated that the closure will operate
from 24 August 2026 until 28 August 2026, between the
hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only.
l Westminster Avenue closed from its junction with
Sandringham Road. Access/egress to be maintained. It
is anticipated that the closure will operate from
26 August 2026 until 2 September 2026, between the
hours of 08:00 and 17:00 only.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken between the dates specified above, between
the times stated.
The Order is required to facilitate carriageway resurfacing
works.
