What is happening?

DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT
CHAPEL BY-PASS, CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH

WHEN: 20 July to 23 July 2026 (07:00 to 15:30 daily).
WHERE: It will be necessary to prohibit traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of 50mph (with 30mph past works area), from Slip Road onto B5470 to Bridgemont Roundabout (6.5 km).
REASON: Grass cutting, gully emptying, litter picking and road sweeping.
The restriction will be in force for the time stated or until the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire - 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit traffic from travelling at a speed in excess of 50 mph (with 30 mph past works area).
