NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, RIBBLE VALLEY BOROUGH) (REVOCATION OF RESTRICTED ROADS (NO2)) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 19th June 2026 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Sections 82(2) and 83(2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to revoke the following:
a) Article 2 of the "Lancashire County Council (Bawdlands and Edisford Road, Clitheroe, Ribble Valley) (Revocation, 20mph and Restricted Road) Order 2014";
b) "The Lancashire County Council (B6246 Mitton Road, Whalley, Ribble Valley Borough) (Revocation of 40mph Speed Limit and Restricted Road) Order 1995" in full;
c) "The County Council Of Lancaster (Restricted Roads) (No.1) Order 1973" in full;
d) "The County Council of Lancashire (Restricted Roads) (No.5) Order, 1975" in full;
e) "The County Council of Lancashire (Restricted Roads) (No.9) Order, 1975" in full;
f) "The County Council of Lancashire (Restricted roads) (No.7) Order 1977" in full;
g) "The County Council of Lancashire (Restricted Roads) (No.4) Order 1978" in full;
h) "The Lancashire County Council (Whalley Road, Barrow, Ribble Valley Borough) (Revocation and Restricted Road) Order 1995" in full;
i) "The Lancashire County Council (Pendle Road, Clitheroe, Ribble Valley Borough) (Restricted Road) Order 1995" in full;
j) "The Lancashire County Council (Padiham Road, Sabden, Ribble Valley Borough) (Restricted Road) and (Revocation) Order 1996" in full;
k) "The Lancashire County Council (Whalley New Road, Billington, Ribble Valley Borough) (Revocation and Restricted Road) Order 1999" in full;
l) The "Lancashire County Council (B6246 Mitton Road, Whalley, Ribble Valley Borough) (Revocation and Restricted Road) Order 2002" in full.
Where no further speed limit is re-introduced, the speed limit will revert to restricted road status by virtue of street lighting, where a 30mph speed limit will apply.

This Order will come into force on the 6th July 2026. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices, Church Walk, Clitheroe, BB7 2RA, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
