SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF WOLDGATE, BOYNTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part
of Woldgate, Boynton from its junction with Sands Lane
east along B1253 High Street continuing along B1253
Bridlington Road south along A165 Bessingby Hill onto
A165 Driffield Road then north along Church Lane
commencing 27 July 2026 between 09.00 hours
and 16.30 hours to allow for tree trimming/felling
to achieve a vegetation safety clearance from the
overhead high voltage electricity supply works for part
of Woldgate, Boynton. The road closure is necessary to
enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within eight hours.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Sands Lane east along B1253 High
Street continuing along B1253 Bridlington Road south
along A165 Bessingby Hill onto A165 Driffield Road
then north along Church Lane, Boynton CP, Bridlington
CP, Carnaby CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town
Ward, East Wolds and Coastal Ward, Bridlington South
Ward. The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
