TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026


Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an order under section 14(1) of the road traffic regulation act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all pedestrian traffic from the sections of footpath described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for repair works to the gas main. The order will come into force on 17th August 2026. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take 12 days. All pedestrians will be prohibited from the sections of footpath described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided via the adjacent highway network. Schedule: From outside the extended north-eastern property boundary of 96 Moorsfield to the extended south-western property boundary of 102 Moorsfield; and from the extended north-western property boundary of 103 Moorsfield to the extended south-eastern property boundary of 109 Moorsfield.
