(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding over the Public Footpath indicated below:-
Footpath FP0502003 Lytham St Annes from the junction with Arundel Road at Point A (GR 334228 – 427845) in a generally northerly direction for a distance of approximately 234 metres to the junction with Links View at Point B (GR 334291 428066.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to facilitate the holding of a sporting event namely The AIG Women's Open (Golf Championship) 2026.
Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those with permission in connection with the event.
The prohibition will be operative from the 25th July, 2026 – 4th August, 2026 inclusive. The Secretary of State has agreed pursuant to S16B(1)(b) that the Order continue in force for this period.
