What is happening?
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL
(MERRIDALE LANE) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City
Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by
the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991,
prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on Merridale Lane
from its junction with Merridale Road to its junction with
Compton Road.
The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
undertaken from 14 July 2026 until 21 July 2026, between
the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.
The diversion route is: Compton Road, Richmond Road,
Finchfield Road, Merridale Road, and vice versa.
The Order is required to facilitate highway works by
Wolverhampton City Council Highway Maintenance.
