Whitehaven - Temporary Road Closure & Waiting Restrictions Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (A5094 INKERMAN TERRACE, WHITEHAVEN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to:
1. Prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the A5094 Inkerman Terrace, Whitehaven, from its junction with the A595, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 470 m.
Alternative Routes:
South Bound Vehicles: via the A5094, Strand Street, Tangier Street, Bransty Row, New Road and the A595.
North Bound Vehicles: via the A595, New Road, Bransty Row, Church Street, Duke Street, Scotch Street and the A5094.
2. Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along that section of the A5094 Inkerman Terrace, Whitehaven, (south west side) from a point adjacent to No. 2 Inkerman Terrace, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 210 m.

The Order will come into operation on 20 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 42 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
