What is happening?

SECTION 90A HIGHWAYS ACT 1980,

HIGHWAYS (ROAD HUMPS)
REGULATIONS 1999 PROPOSED SPEED CUSHIONS ON
SCOTLAND HALL ROAD AND SURBITON ROAD, MILES PLATTING AND NEWTON HEATH

NOTICE is hereby given that Manchester City Council proposes to introduce:

5 sets of Twin Speed Cushions, 75mm high (+/- 3mm), 3500mm long, 1700mm wide, 800 - 950mm from the kerb line (with gradients no steeper than 1:10) on:

Scotland Hall Road -

1. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 12m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Paddington Avenue

2. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 24m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Bayswater Avenue

3. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 18m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Rosebank Road

4. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 29m south east of the south eastern kerbline of Seabrook Road

5. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 46m north west of the northern kerbline of Amos Avenue

4 sets of Twin Speed Cushions, 75mm high (+/- 3mm), 2000mm long, 1700mm wide, 700 - 800mm from the kerb line (with gradients no steeper than 1:10) on:

Surbiton Road -
1. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 30m south west of the south western kerbline of Scotland Hall Road

2. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 18m south west of the south western kerbline of Kennington Avenue

3. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 34m south west of the south western kerbline of Chelmsford Avenue

4. Two speed cushions with a midpoint 29m south west of the south western kerbline of Cravenhurst Avenue

A plan showing the location of the Twin Speed Cushions may be inspected in person at the Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension, M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) 9am-4.30pm Monday to Friday or requested by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk.  

Objections to the proposals must be sent in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the address below, stating the grounds on which they are made, no later than 27 th July 2026.
