What is happening?
THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders.
The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.
BRITANNIA STREET, SHEPSHED
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC
INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, EQUESTRIANS & NON-MOTORISED TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
It is expected that the Order will come into force on 27/07/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works will commence when the appropriate signs are erected and may last for up to 3 days to allow Severn Trent Water to undertake replacement manhole cover & frame works. The proposed diversion route will be via: Charnwood Rd, Anson Rd, Tickow Ln, Belton St & vice versa.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by the Leicestershire County Council on 07/05/2026 and which came into effect on 26/05/2026 will be continued in force until 25/11/2026 or until the works have been completed. The effect of the Order is to continue to allow for the closure of that length of road as specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice. The road is being closed for public safety to allow C3 Construction Ltd to continue to undertake carriageway resurfacing in connection with David Wilson Homes development.
