NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the whole length of Little Staughton Road, Pertenhall at a speed exceeding 20 mph.

This temporary 20 mph speed restriction is required for safety of the public and work force in order to undertake patching, surface dressing and reinstatement of road markings, and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary 20 mph speed restriction is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 8th July 2026 to 20th July 2026

This temporary road closure is required for positioning of tankers on roadway to manage sewage flows during pump station shutdown and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along that length Oakley Road, Bromham, Park Road Stevington at a speed exceeding 40 mph.

This temporary 40 mph speed restriction is required for safety of the public and work force in order to install water pressure valve and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

WOBURN ROAD, KEMPSTON HARDWICK 26 – 073

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, from proceeding along Woburn Road, Kempston Hardwick.

All motorists, HGV’s and emergency services are required to follow the diversion at all times. Access and egress for Emergency services who require attendance to a premise on Manor Road, will be maintained as reasonably practicable and safe. Access and egress will only be maintained to those residents and businesses on this road. Pedestrian access to be provided to Kempston Hardwick Railway Station from the west only.

This temporary road closure is required to facilitate the utilisation of the dedicated plant crossing over Manor Road to enable the mass haulage of soil between the Lake and Core Zones of the site as part of the construction of Universal Destinations & Experiences UK Project, and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from 27th July 2026 to 5th October 2026

(ODELL: BRIDLEWAY NO 31 AND FELMERSHAM: BRIDLEWAY NO 8 )

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the order made by Bedford Borough Council on 23rd December 2022, extended on 30th June 2023, 22nd December 2023, 28th June 2024, 20th December 2024, 25th June 2025 and 16th June 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of Odell: Bridleway No 31 and Felmersham: Bridleway No 8 which extends from its junction with Mill Lane Odell at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9652 5775 to the OS GR SP 9711 5712 junction with Carlton Road Felmersham has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 7th July 2028.

This temporary closure is required as the bridge is unsafe. The closure will continue from Tuesday 7th July 2026 for up to two year.

There is no alternative routes for users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 7th July 2026 for a period not exceeding two years or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to bridleways have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within two years the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

PART OF FOOTPATH NO A10 AND FOOTPATH NO 10

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Order made by Bedford Borough Council on the 15th December 2022, extended on 1st September 2023, 21st June 2024, 27th June 2025 and 16th June 2026 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of part of public footpath No A10 and footpath No 10 Wyboston, Chawston, and Colesden which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1537 5536 to OS GR TL 1475 5572 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 2nd July 2027. This closure is required to facilitate works associated with the Improvement Scheme for the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbett.

The closure is to continue from Friday 3rd July 2026 for up to one year.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 3rd July 2026 for a period not exceeding one year or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpaths have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within one year the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
