What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ALDER LANE, AND MERCASTON LANE, MERCASTON
WHEN: 20 July to 23 August 2026.
WHERE: Rolling closures on Alder Lane and Mercaston Lane, Mercaston between New Road Jct. and Mercaston Lane Jct.
REASON: To facilitate water main renewal works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: SOUTH: Alder Lane, Luke Lane, A52 Ashbourne Road, Wild Park Lane, Slade Lane, Mercaston Lane, and vice versa.
NORTH: Mercaston Lane, Intakes Lane, Muggington Lane End, Bullhurst Lane, Green Lane and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will reopen as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
